How it works

ElementarySMS platform is made of two applications, that are interconnected through Internet, ready to send and receive text messages (SMS) to and from mobile network operators:

ElementarySMS Web Application

a PHP powered application installed on your chosen hosting account

ElementarySMS Android Gateway

a native Android application installed on one or multiple personal Android devices

When using ElementarySMS platform to send SMS messages, your mobile carrier will charge you the same as if you sent the messages directly from your phone.

You can connect multiple devices from different mobile network operators, to take advantage of cheaper in-network SMS rates.

Devices

You can manage all your connected devices via Web Interface.

Check real time status of your devices (battery, network signal and WiFi connection), even when you don't have physical access to device.

Sending rate can be adjusted between 30 and 960 messages per hour, per device.

You can increase the capacity of processed messages, connecting as much as needed Android devices.

Contacts and groups

Directly import contacts to ElementarySMS in a flexible mode, using CSV or TXT files.

Contacts will be validated and any duplicated will be removed before adding them to the system.

You can easily create groups of contacts, targeting your audience in a simple and cost effective way.

Templates and messages

ElementarySMS allows sending messages up to 450 characters. Concatenated SMS are supported by most mobile devices.

Your contacts are unique and their messages should be too. Using tags, you can easily personalize the message for each contact: First name, Last name, E-mail, Company.
If a contact has one or more fields empty, the fallback values will replace the missings with the assigned values.

Contacts are encouraged to respond, using standard Reply feature.

Send and receive Unicode SMS messages (for Arabic and other scripts).

SMS Campaigns

In order to launch a campaign, you need to assign a name, compose a text message or use a template, choose target group(s) or contact(s) and select a device to be used for this campaign.

Schedule for delivery, pause or cancel a campaign.

Check the status of your campaigns in real time. ElementarySMS gives you detailed statistics about the number of messages processed, sent and delivered.

RestAPI integration

SMS-enable your website (online store, presentation website, intranet) or desktop app (ERP, CRM, etc), using our RestAPI SMS Gateway.
You can easily set up your services so even non-developers can control and maintain them from their web browser or console.

Requirements

ElementarySMS Web Application

Our recommendation is to install the web app on an new subdomain, in a hosting account which should meet the following requirements:

Apache2 Webserver version 2.x with mod_rewrite enabled.
PHP version 5.4.x
MySQL / MariaDB or Percona Server 5.5.x with InnoDB engine

ElementarySMS Android Gateway

For the mobile app, you need a phone (or another device with a SIM card slot), that meets the following requirements:

Android OS version 4.4.x
An active SIM card with a smart SMS plan enabled. *
Internet connection: WiFi / 3G / 4G *

*Standard data fees and text messages rates may apply. We recommend an unlimited SMS plan and WiFi connection, so you can avoid surcharge.
